4 americans in the uk

Becky spent months upon endless months in planning of this trip. Then she spent months upon months agonized about the details. Then she re-planed everything. Then there was more agonizing about yet more details, then more "in-depth" planning, then yet more...well, you're getting the idea, it seemingly went on ad infinitum. Suffice it to say that my sweet bride Rebecca was quite successful in satisfying most everyone's needs and almost all of their desires by putting together what promised to be yet another of her memorable trips to that magical kingdom we've come to know as Great Britain (for our intrepid group's first adventure, "3 Americans in the U.K." please click here). The core group consisted of sweet Rebecca herself, her brother Daniel from Kansas, myself...and joining us this time out we had the additional delight of Becky and Daniel's mother, Awanna. That makes "4 Americans in the UK!" So let's Do It!

The map above will give you some idea about the area we are to cover. The cities and areas in white include some of the major stopping points of our visit...and now, in keeping with our policy of remaining "on the cutting edge" (at least by my admittedly somewhat low standards), you should be able to click your mouse on these areas of the map and be immediatly whisked away to that area's specific web page! ...or, of course, you can take the trip with me in its more traditional, chronological order by simply click on the icons on the bottom right of the pages to move onto the next time and location. So settle in while I struggle with my fading memory and try to give you some idea of the people we met and the things we saw on our journey...

San Francisco International Airport

Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001

Awanna, Becky and I rose quite early and left our homes in Eureka, California (where the redwoods meet the sea) at about 6:30 a.m. then made the 4 1/2 hour ride down together in our family car to the Sonoma County Airport. We parked the car at their long term parking lot (for a very nominal charge) and then hooked up with one of the shuttle buses for the 1 1/2 hour ride from there down to San Francisco International Airport.

Please click on London's Tower Bridge in the bottom right corner and let's get this show on the road!
